Luck of the Irish?
It seemed the flurry to cast Christian Grey of E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey was much more dynamic and exciting than what the movie could or will ever achieve. Several names were thrown out and many made dear souls clutch their hearts in hopes that their favorites would not be snatched from their sweet and blossoming careers for this movie. I was certainly one of the many, especially when Francois Arnaud's name was thrown into the mix.
However, it's finalized. Jamie Dornan has been chosen and whether the screaming I heard was out of excitement, relief or pure terror, the deed has been done. Unless the Once Upon a Time and BBC's The Fall star decides to pull a Hunnam and back out at the last minute. Maybe, his best friend Robert Pattinson will give the sweet Irish a call and warn him of how devastating it might be to his career.
Jamie does have a week before filming officially starts. Despite this, I feel like 50 Shades will be a good step for his career. Perhaps not Oscar movie opportunities, but he'll grow in fame and break out into America's film scene, properly.
Hey, if he needs to pay the bills, I won't oppose.
What do you think of Jamie being cast? How many are going to fork up money to watch Jamie strip past his underoos (Once gave us such a tease, I swear)?
